Sy- og fikseverksted
Sy- og fikseverksted – a drop-in sewing and clothing repair workshop
The sewing and repair workshop is for anyone who wants to hem a pair of trousers or repair a damaged item of clothing.
Bring your garment and any materials you need. You can borrow a sewing machine and get guidance on how to use it. It’s a friendly, social and informative gathering! We’ll have the coffee on and look forward to meeting you.
Everyone is welcome, and guidance is free. This isn’t a course, but a place to bring your own project and get help with what you need. We’ll help as best we can, and if a repair is too challenging, we’ll refer you to one of the local sewing workshops.
We use the library’s “arrangementsrommet” (event room), just inside the entrance on the right. After 16:00, the library is open for self-service access, and you’ll need the Oslonøkkelen app to open the library door. This means there is an age limit of 15 unless you are accompanied by an adult with Oslonøkkelen.
Need help downloading the app beforehand? Visit the library during staffed hours and we’ll help you.
Drop in for a chat! If you’re skilled at sewing and interested in volunteering, come by. We need more people on the team and would love to create a welcoming community around sewing and repairs.
Venue: Deichman Oppsal, Vetlandsveien 99-101, 0685 Oslo
