Sy- og fikseverksted
Sy- og fikseverksted (sewing and repair workshop)
The sewing and repair workshop is for anyone who wants to hem a pair of trousers or mend a damaged item of clothing.
Bring your garment and any materials you need. You can borrow a sewing machine and get guidance on how to use it. It’s a friendly, social and educational gathering! We’ll put the coffee on and look forward to meeting you.
Everyone is welcome, and guidance is free. This is not a course; it’s a place to bring your own project and get help with whatever you need. We’ll help as best we can, and if the challenge is too big, we’ll refer you to one of the sewing studios in the area.
We use the “arrangementsrommet” (event room) in the library, just to the right of the entrance. After 16.00, the library is open outside staffed hours, and you’ll need Oslonøkkelen, the app that opens the library door. This means there is a minimum age of 15, unless you are accompanied by an adult with Oslonøkkelen.
Need help downloading the app beforehand? Contact the library during staffed hours and we’ll help you.
Feel free to drop in for a chat! If you know how to sew and would like to volunteer, come by. We need more people on the team and would love to create a welcoming community around sewing and repairs.
