Sy- og fikseverksted
Sy- og fikseverksted (sewing and mending workshop)
The sewing and mending workshop is for anyone who wants to hem a pair of trousers or repair a damaged garment.
Bring your garment and any materials you need. You can borrow a sewing machine and get guidance on how to use it. It’s a friendly, social and educational space! We’ll put the coffee on and look forward to meeting you.
Everyone is welcome, and guidance is free. This is not a course, but a place to bring your own project and get help with whatever you need. We’ll do our best to help, and if the task is too challenging, we’ll refer you to one of the sewing studios in the area.
We use the “arrangementsrommet” (event room) in the library, just inside the entrance to the right. After 16:00, the library is open outside staffed hours, and you need the Oslonøkkelen app to open the library door. This means there is a minimum age of 15, unless you are accompanied by an adult with Oslonøkkelen.
Need help downloading the app beforehand? Contact the library during staffed hours and we’ll help you.
Drop in for a chat! If you know how to sew and are interested in volunteering, come by. We need more people on the team and would love to create a welcoming community around sewing and mending.
