Sy- og fikseverksted
Sy- og fikseverksted (sewing and mending workshop)
The sewing and mending workshop is for anyone who wants to hem a pair of trousers or repair a damaged garment.
Bring your garment and the materials you need. You can borrow a sewing machine and get guidance on how to use it. It will be a friendly, social and educational gathering! We’ll put the coffee on and look forward to meeting you.
Everyone is welcome, and guidance is free. This is not a course, but a place to bring your own project and get help with what you need. We’ll help as best we can, and if the challenge is too big, we’ll refer you to one of the local sewing studios.
We use the “arrangementsrommet” (event room) in the library, just inside to the right of the entrance. After 16:00, the library has extended self-service opening hours, and you’ll need Oslonøkkelen, the app that opens the library door. This means there is a minimum age of 15 unless you are accompanied by an adult with Oslonøkkelen.
Need help downloading the app beforehand? Get in touch with the library during staffed hours and we’ll help you.
Drop in for a chat! If you’re skilled at sewing and interested in volunteering, come by. We need more people on the team and would love to create a welcoming community around sewing and repairs.
