The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping

SUNRISE ON THE REAPING is the latest prequel in the Hunger Games saga. It is set 24 years before the events of Katniss Everdeen’s original trilogy, roughly four decades after the most recent story, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. The story follows the fateful year Haymitch Abernathy, Katniss and Peeta’s future mentor, is selected to take part in the Second Quarter Quell, an event that drastically changes the rules of the deadly games. Instead of the usual two tributes from each district, every district must send four, bringing the total to 48 participants in the arena—the largest number in Panem’s history, twice as many victims, and an even lower chance of survival.
