The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping
A Hunger Games prequel set before Katniss Everdeen’s story
SUNRISE ON THE REAPING is the latest prequel in the Hunger Games saga. It takes place 24 years before the events of Katniss Everdeen’s original trilogy, roughly four decades after the most recent story, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. The story focuses on the fateful year when Haymitch Abernathy, the future mentor of Katniss and Peeta, is selected to compete in the second Quarter Quell, an event that drastically changes the rules of the Hunger Games. Instead of the usual two tributes from each district, each district must send four, resulting in 48 contestants in the arena—the largest number in Panem’s history, twice as many potential victims and an even lower chance of survival.
Runtime: 2 hr 38 min. Age rating: 12. 4DX 2D, English audio, Norwegian subtitles. Screen 2.
