Sterk helse for en trygg alderdom
A talk on staying strong and active as you age
Learn how to maintain a strong body and an active everyday life.
Ageing brings natural changes to the body. Muscle mass, muscle strength and bone mass gradually decline with age, which can affect physical function, independence, the risk of fractures and quality of life. Fortunately, much of this can be prevented.
In this talk, Professor Truls Raastad from Norges idrettshøgskole will explain what happens to the body as we get older, and why strength training is one of the most effective ways to maintain health and function throughout life. You’ll learn how exercise affects the body, what benefits it can offer, and how strength training can be adapted for both healthy older adults and people with reduced physical function.
The talk is for anyone who wants to understand how to maintain a strong body and an active everyday life as they age. The talk lasts 30 minutes, followed by time for discussion and questions.
