Snekker Andersen loves Christmas. Every year, he does everything he can to give his wife and three children a proper Christmas. The highlight of Christmas Eve is a visit from Santa Claus himself! But this Christmas will be unlike any other: when Snekker Andersen meets Santa Claus in person, the two decide to switch roles and visit each other’s families. The Santa family has never before had a real carpenter as a guest, and the Andersen family has never met the real Santa Claus…
The film is based on Alf Prøysen’s charming and atmospheric Christmas story, which has delighted children and adults since it was first published in 1957. The story has been published as picture books and comics, read aloud countless times on the radio, and performed more than 1,300 times at Oslo Nye Teater.
