On Friday 22. januar 2027, join us for a historic evening at Sentrum Scene! Øystein Sunde brings his enormous catalogue of songs and an all-star group of musicians to celebrate his 80th birthday. Come and celebrate a living legend!

Øystein Sunde’s solo career began at the Dolphins viseklubb folk music club in Oslo in 1966. “It was a club full of enthusiastic beginners in their late teens. You could sit on a bar stool and sing three songs, and then the next person was up,” Sunde says of that time. After four years on the stool, his first album came out, and his career really took off.

Today, Sunde can look back on a history spanning more than 50 years, filled with album releases, successful shows, TV productions and collaborations with the best in Norwegian show business.

Sunde will of course be joined by Meget i Sløyd, but this time there will also be the full package: a six-piece horn section, backing vocals from Erfarne Kvinnfolk and Tor Welo on piano.

From Super-SS-Rally-GT to Kjekt å ha, from bluegrass to country, from a horn section to a lone man with a guitar, from blues to Mo i Rana, from horse to dog, from my socks to Tass, from when he had a boat to when he ran into himself at the door, from “that’s just how it is” to “that’s just how it was”, from come here to come there, from the slightly later part of the day of all time to the year when it was so steep, or the other way around, from the tip of the teat to meticulous in a Bentley, from one thing to another and then some,
