Julenissens verksted

When nine-year-old Mari wakes up one night and discovers a nisse in her bedroom, it marks the beginning of an unusual Christmas adventure. With a forgotten nisse mitten as their only clue, she, her grandmother and a very sceptical dad set off on an adventurous journey to find Santa Claus, while the mitten’s owner, Santa’s little helper Stompen, does everything he can to stop them. Julenissens verksted must not be discovered—it would be a disaster! Their journey takes them through forests, open moorland and beautiful winter landscapes. But there are plenty of challenges too: they must get past the guardian of the forest, Kjerringa med staven, and battle their way through a terrible snowstorm. The journey is not only exciting; it also helps the family see one another in a new light, and they eventually realise what the real magic of Christmas is. Get ready for this year’s Christmas film for the whole family, packed with festive spirit and well-known songs by Thorbjørn Egner, including Kaptein Sorte Bill, Dyrene i Afrika and Det snør det snør—performed by some of Norway’s leading artists, including Sissel Kyrkjebø.
