Butterfly
Butterfly — film screening
Half-sisters Lily (Renate Reinsve) and Diana (Helene Bjørneby) reluctantly return to Gran Canaria, where their mother has died under mysterious circumstances. When the sisters discover that their mother led a life they knew nothing about, they set off in her wild footsteps. The journey takes us from the tourist hub to Gran Canaria’s hidden heart: an alternative universe in the Canary Islands’ mountains.
Butterfly introduces us to a world rich in colour, rituals and emotion, captivating with a tone that is both humorous and deeply moving. Butterfly is a life-affirming and original cinema experience, starring Reinsve and Bjørnebye as the sisters, Lillian Müller as their mother, and Numan Acar as her much younger lover. The film was shot on location, both in the “Norwegian Granca” and in surroundings unfamiliar to most Norwegians.
Runtime: 1 hour 57 min. Age limit: 9 years. 2D, Norwegian audio, Norwegian subtitles, Den Store Kinodagen Screen 4
