Wolf and Sheep
Wolf and Sheep — a coming-of-age film set in rural Afghanistan
Shahrbanoo Sadat’s debut film is a beautiful coming-of-age story set in the Afghan countryside.
Eleven-year-olds Sediqa and Qodrat both try to escape the rumor mill in their respective villages. Although boys and girls are not supposed to play together, they develop a secret friendship in the isolated mountains. In Wolf and Sheep, director Shahrbanoo Sadat draws on her own childhood experiences to tell a story that offers a unique insight into life in rural Afghanistan. The film won the main prize in the Directors’ Fortnight section at Cannes in 2016.
