UNG: Bokklubb
A relaxed book club for teens
Would you like to read with us?
Are you between 15 and 25? UNG: Bokklubb invites you!
We read, chat, laugh and explore literature—without any pressure, at our own pace.
You can read in English, Norwegian or the original language. You can help choose the next book, and we appreciate your recommendations!
Whether you’ve read the book or not, you’re welcome! Feel free to bring a craft project to work on, or another book you’d like to share. We’ll have snacks and some knitting and drawing supplies.
The book club is a great place to hang out, meet new people and relax. We explore themes from books and talk a little about life.
UNG: Bokklubb in Bjørvika meets four times this autumn, once a month. There’s a lovely stack of books ready to borrow for everyone who attends. For 1 December, we’ll be reading James Baldwin’s masterpiece from the jazz scene in Harlem, "Another Country" / "Et annet land", which was considered a literary sensation when it was published in 1962. We’ll also begin the meeting with shared reading, where an excerpt from the book is read aloud. We’ll pause along the way to discuss what we’ve read. If you haven’t read the book by 1 December, don’t worry. We’ll continue with it at the next meeting, and we’ll have some copies available to borrow at the meeting.
Follow us on TikTok/Insta (@deichman.ung) to stay up to date with what’s happening.
For young people only! Everything is, of course, free and drug- and alcohol-free.
Venue: Deichman Bjørvika, Anne-Cath. Vestlys plass 1, 0150 Oslo
