Tillitsmannen

A fascinating history lesson with the father of the nation.

In this feature-length portrait of Norway’s longest-serving prime minister, we meet a candid Einar Gerhardsen, ready to tell his story. As much a story about this fascinating man as it is an account of the labour movement in Norway and the dramatic development of the welfare state during the 20th century, the film is interspersed with numerous historical clips and excerpts from films of the time.

Worried about spending 80 minutes in the company of a reminiscing Gerhardsen? Don’t be. This history lesson flies by, and it’s one we all need.
