The Pond av Parallax & Dembacke

Join an improvised journey between light and music, creating space for free association, presence and community. Welcome to the performance «The Pond» – a collaboration between the improvisation trio Parallax and light artist Evelina Dembacke. This contemporary art experience for children and adults captivates across generations and leaves room for free imagination. The Pond is about being in the moment. Inspired by futuristic and abstract expressions, the performance explores a visual and musical language through improvisation, aiming to create moods that invite free association and wonder. Reuse is central to the work; instruments and visual objects are made from recycled materials – from an old spinning wheel with metal fittings to a rattling cardboard box full of soda bottle caps. Shadows and close-up images of the objects, projected on stage, create a lively and playful universe. The associations range from Reodor Felgen to artists such as Jean Tinguely and Piet Mondrian, and draw inspiration from the “found objects” tradition. The audience joins an improvised journey between light and music, creating space for free association, presence and community. The performers show how everyday objects can be given new life and how light and sound affect each other.
