The Mission

The British rock band The Mission comes to Rockefeller on 29 September 2027! They have had a remarkable career, with 13 singles reaching the UK Top 40, including iconic songs such as «Wasteland» and «Tower of Strength». Albums such as God’s Own Medicine (1986) and Carved In Sand (1990) have sold more than five million copies worldwide.

The Mission was formed in Leeds, England, in 1986, after Wayne Hussey and bassist Craig Adams left The Sisters of Mercy. Along with guitarist Simon Hinkler and drummer Mick Brown, the band quickly found its place in the post-punk and gothic rock scene. Their sound combined intricate, atmospheric guitar work with Hussey’s expressive, haunting vocals, resulting in a grand and distinctive repertoire.

The band’s reputation as an outstanding live act has been cemented by numerous awards, sold-out tours around the world and headline performances at festivals across the globe – including the renowned Reading Festival, which they have headlined twice.

Despite several breaks and lineup changes, The Mission reunited for the final time in 2011 and have continued to tour extensively ever since. With their powerful live performances, they continue to captivate audiences around the world.

The band today consists of the three original members Wayne Hussey, Craig Adams and Simon Hinkler, alongside new drummer Alex Baum.
