The Good The Bad and The Zugly
Punk concert with Amulet
- Sold out
The Good The Bad and The Zugly have delivered notorious live performances and relentless punk with a pitch-black, satirical edge for more than a decade. On Friday 13 November, they take over Sentrum Scene together with legendary Amulet!
The Good The Bad and The Zugly (GBZ) began as the bastard child of Oslo’s 1990s punk scene: young souls carrying the torch after Turbonegro, Gluecifer and Anal Babes. They reminded us of a time when punk rock was a promise of infantile nihilism and pure, malicious fun.
Now, after six studio albums and a decade of notorious live performances, these once-virile Norwegians have crashed into the inevitable juggernaut of middle age. For any productive punk band, you might think this would mean certain death: drowning in self-pity, changing nappies, heterosexual male insecurity in the face of changing gender roles, mortgages, marriage and physical decline.
While much of that still holds true, the pitch-black, satirical humour that has always defined GBZ seems to draw fresh fuel from the bitterness growing in these five haemorrhoid-ridden bodies. The songs are faster, the riffs rougher, the vocals more desperate—and the song titles, for which GBZ have always been praised, are more incisive and ridiculous than ever.
Amulet
The legendary band is known for combining fierce energy with powerful songs. This is hardcore punk of the highest order: precise yet groovy, hard-hitting and irresistibly catchy.
Amulet (1993–2007) released four albums during their career. The quintet toured Europe, the UK and the USA. They played their farewell concert at Øyafestivalen in 2007. In ’21 and ’23, Amulet reunited for concerts marking the 20th anniversaries of the albums Freedom Fighters and Danger Danger.
