The Condor Daughter
Bolivian drama about tradition and personal dreams
Clara is a midwife’s assistant in a small village in the Andes, where she learns birth songs passed down through generations. But she dreams of becoming a singer in the city and faces a difficult choice: should she stay and carry on the traditions, or leave the village to create a life of her own? The Condor Daughter is Bolivia’s submission for Best International Feature Film at the 99th Academy Awards, and a beautiful, tender film about the tension between cultural heritage and personal dreams.
