About the film:
She tells the children they are going on a great and exciting adventure. In reality, they set out through the dangerous streets of São Paulo, heading for her cousin’s home in the hope of starting over. In her previous films, The Second Mother and Don't Call Me Son, director Anna Muylaert explored Brazil’s enormous class differences through family dramas. She does so again in her latest film, a deeply moving drama carried by a fantastic performance from Shirley Cruz.
