Stein Torleif Bjella
Stein Torleif Bjella – live concert
- Tickets available
After a hugely successful album launch, Stein Torleif Bjella and his outstanding band will hit the road again in autumn 2026. The album Velkomen skodde has been hailed as a career highlight by an unusually large and united group of critics, who have awarded it top marks of six and described Hallingen as one of the most important songwriters of our time.
Velkomen skodde is a new musical chapter for Bjella, who has always been a master at portraying the intimate and familiar. The album opens new doors, both musically and thematically, with warm influences from Latin American traditions. It also features a stellar team of musicians and international contributors including Marc Ribot and Daniel Lanois. In his review of the album, Audun Vinger of Dagens Næringsliv even called Bjella “Our new musical citizen of the world.”
The audience response has been just as enthusiastic. In recent years, Bjella has reached an ever-wider audience, particularly through his participation in the TV2 hit Hver gang vi møtes. Today, his concerts bring together both devoted listeners and new fans.
The autumn tour will celebrate the album Velkomen skodde, while also inviting audiences into a truly distinctive world. They can experience new songs that have already made a deep impression, alongside the songs that have made Bjella a leading figure in Norwegian folk music. He is joined by his regular band: Eirik Øien on bass, Kenneth Kapstad on drums and Geir Sundstøl on string instruments. Together, they bring the songs to life in dynamic concert performances.
Stein Torleif Bjella is known for giving a voice to quiet lives, to longing, hope and the unspoken. On stage, he combines reflection with warmth and down-to-earth humour, making his concerts both moving and smile-inducing.
For those who already know Bjella’s music, this is a long-awaited continuation. For new audiences, it is a rare opportunity to discover one of Norway’s finest storytellers up close.
As tradition dictates, a fruit basket will still be raffled at every concert!
