Sør-Afrika og Navi Pillay
A lecture on South Africa and Navi Pillay
Lecture by Andreas Liebe Delsett
On 10 December, the Nobel Peace Prize will be awarded at Oslo City Hall. This year, it goes to South African lawyer, judge and human rights advocate Navi Pillay. Who is she, and where does she come from?
Andreas Liebe Delsett (born 1984 in Bodø) made his debut as an author with the documentary book "Kjøkkenveien" in 2019. He studied in South Africa himself and was involved in Norwegian solidarity work for southern Africa from his teens. In 2022, Delsett began travelling back to the country at the southern tip of the African continent to explore life after apartheid. "Kapp det gode håp" is his fourth book and has received glowing reviews.
"Kapp det gode håp" is a unique and vivid travelogue that takes us inside one of the world’s most conflict-ridden societies, introduces us to people and places, and offers an exceptional way into South Africa’s past, present and future.
Nobel Peace Prize laureate Navi Pillay is from Durban, one of the cities Liebe Delsett writes about in the book. In his lecture, he will tell us more about her background and international work, with connections to international courts, Gaza, Israel, Trump and Musk.
Welcome!
