POING & Hekate - Hunting High and Low
POING & Hekate - Hunting High and Low — a concert reimagining a-ha’s debut album
a-ha’s debut album Hunting High and Low became a huge worldwide success when it was released in 1985. The result was a world full of people trying out Morten Harket’s falsetto, a new generation of keyboardists terrorising music shops with Magne Furuholmen’s intro to Take on Me, and a host of songwriters copying Paul Waaktaar-Savoy’s mysterious style and feel for melody.
The musical wizards of POING have performed everything from contemporary music to folk music from around the world. This time, they join forces with Hekate, one of the most innovative and fresh vocal trios in Norwegian folk music, featuring three young, top-tier singers. Together, they explore the Norwegian elements in these fantastic pop songs. The result is a concert that casts the album in a new light, with musical surprises around every corner.
Performers: POING: Frode Haltli on accordion, Rolf-Erik Nystrøm on saxophone, Håkon Thelin on double bass. Hekate vocal trio: Silje Liahagen, Malin Alander, Synnøve Plassen.
