Never After Dark
Japanese-language supernatural film
The young medium Ariel travels to an old country hotel to help its owners get rid of a ghost before a possible reopening. The ghost hunt involves both time travel and someone in Ariel’s immediate family. A creepy atmosphere gradually builds, calling to mind The Conjuring films. The film also offers a much more satisfying ending than the related Hokum, which played in cinemas earlier this year.
