Nagi Notes
A drama about rediscovering identity
Nagi Notes is a seamlessly told drama about rediscovering one’s identity, from one of Japan’s leading filmmakers.
Yoriko, a sculptor living in the village of Nagi, is haunted by a past love affair she cannot grieve. Yuri, an architect who recently left her partner, travels from Tokyo to visit her friend and former sister-in-law. Both women find themselves at a crossroads and, in their own ways, seek to let go of the past and find their own identities. The film premiered in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival.
