Nagi Notes
A drama about rediscovering identity
NAGI NOTES is a seamlessly told drama about rediscovering one’s identity, from one of Japan’s leading filmmakers.
Yoriko, a sculptor living in the countryside in Nagi, is haunted by a past love affair she is unable to grieve. When Yuri, an architect who has recently left her partner, travels from Tokyo to visit her friend and former sister-in-law, both women find themselves at a crossroads. In their own ways, they seek to let go of the past and find their own identities. The film premiered in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival.
