Monsen comes to Rockefeller on 17 February! The 53-year-old former journalist releases his very first album, Mer, in November, and in February he plays his first-ever concert at Rockefeller. With no record label, management or long music career behind him, he has decided to go all in on his debut album and a night at Rockefeller.

“Hey! I’ve made an album and called it ‘Mer’. It turned out so great! I’m not even ashamed to say it: it really is a masterpiece. The album will be released to the public at the beginning of November and, in a burst of overconfidence, I’ve booked Rockefeller for the release concert in February 2027. Maybe the stupidest thing I’ve ever done financially, but I’ve never made anything this beautiful before, so here we go!”

Monsen is joined by a large team of musicians. Birger Mistereggen, Anja-Christin Nielsen, Cecilia Wilder, Anthony Smith, Vidar Eldholm, Oskar Lindberget and producer, MD and guitarist Noah Krogsholm are joined by guest artists Martin Horntvedt and Annette Gil. Together, there will be 13–14 musicians on stage. The music began as poetry, became songs and eventually grew into something much bigger. The result is the debut album Mer, a musical world somewhere between folk and pop. The first taste, the single “Åpent sår”, is out now.

Monsen has gone all in on both the album and the concert. Now there’s just one thing left: to fill Rockefeller on 17 February.

Tickets: NOK 430 + booking fee.

18+ age limit. Valid ID required. No guardian scheme. Valid ID means a physical national ID card, passport, physical driving licence or bank card with a photo. Digital ID (digital driving licence or Bank-ID) and photos of ID are not accepted.

Doors open at 19:00. The event starts approximately one hour after doors open. Please arrive well in advance, as there may be a queue.
