Marie Madeleine

What happens when a church and a brothel suddenly become next-door neighbors?

Marie works as a prostitute and lives freely, without being bound by society’s norms. When an evangelical church opens across the street from the brothel, the sex workers find themselves with God as their next-door neighbor. Marie Madeleine is an open and intimate story of an unexpected friendship that challenges the boundaries between faith, morality and freedom. The film premiered at Cannes in 2026, where it was nominated for the Queer Palm.
