Marie Madeleine
Film
What happens when the church and the brothel suddenly become next-door neighbors?
Marie works as a prostitute and lives freely, without being bound by society’s norms. When an evangelical church opens across the street from the brothel, the sex workers suddenly have God as their next-door neighbor. Marie Madeleine is an open and intimate story about an unexpected friendship that challenges the boundaries between faith, morality and freedom. The film premiered in Cannes in 2026, where it was nominated for the Queer Palm.
