Musician Fred (Bill Pullman) is arrested for a horrific crime, but did he really do it, and is his wife (Patricia Arquette) as innocent as she claims to be? Director David Lynch never explained what his films were about, but the nightmarish Lost Highway (1997) says something about the fear of being deceived, and the stories men tell themselves to justify violence against women. A dark, disorienting and atmospheric film.
