Kjærast

Asle (Leo Magnus de la Nuez) and Gerd (Kristi-Helene Giæver Engeberg) meet in a small coastal town at the western edge of the country, facing the open sea. They have a son, and for a while their happiness is complete. But Asle, a sailor, is restless and drawn to the sea, while Gerd stays behind in the village, alone with their child (Audun Gallefoss). The distance between them grows, and a question arises: How much distance can love endure?

KJÆRAST is directed by Erik Poppe and based on Nobel Prize winner Jon Fosse’s only original screenplay written for film. The film is a story about love and the power of longing.
