The duo rarely performs, and their concerts are always a musical experience not to be missed. Martin Hederos and Mattias Hellberg have built up an almost cult following in the Scandinavian music scene over more than two decades. Their self-titled debut album from 2000 was acclaimed for its stripped-back and distinctive interpretations of songs by, among others, Velvet Underground, Mink De Ville and Bob Dylan, carried by Hederos' expressive piano playing and Hellberg's characteristic voice. The album is still regarded as a modern Scandinavian cult classic. For Oslo audiences, this visit is also a little homecoming. “Oslo has always been close to our hearts, ever since Nymphet Noodlers’ wild concerts in the 90s at wonderful clubs like Last Train, Tutankhamon and Mono, among others. Hederos & Hellberg have also played much quieter, but just as cool, concerts at some of those same clubs. Now it’s time to return to Oslo, to a venue that’s new to us: the intimate, welcoming and great-sounding Kafé Hærverk. We’re really looking forward to it. We don’t play that often anymore, so this will be a little exclusive.” Since reuniting, Hederos & Hellberg have once again captivated audiences with their distinctive blend of folk, rock, blues and poetic melancholy. The music is understated but intense; delicate, yet full of authority and experience.
