Fullmånenetter
Fullmånenetter — an Eric Rohmer film
One of Eric Rohmer’s finest films.
Rohmer offers a light-hearted, intelligent and comic look at the modern woman and her ideas about love. Louise is a young designer who lives in the suburbs with her boyfriend. He wants them to get married and settle down, but she isn’t quite ready to give up her youth and nightlife. She gets an apartment in the city, where she can enjoy her freedom. But she soon discovers that it isn’t so simple.
Pascale Ogier received a thoroughly well-deserved award in Venice for her role in Fullmånenetter. She is a typical Rohmer woman: admired and sought after, yet unsure of herself and her own feelings. Pascale Ogier, described in connection with Fullmånenetter as “the discovery of the year” and “female mercury in explosive concentration” (Harald Kolstad), died shortly after filming.
“A small masterpiece.”
