Fredsfilm: Le Regard – Blikket (2005)
Peace film screening
Organized by Internasjonal kvinneliga for fred og frihet
Three times every six months, Internasjonal kvinneliga for fred og frihet (IKFF) screens a peace film at Deichman Majorstuen. The screenings are open to everyone, and admission is free. We’re happy to make time for a chat and a cup of coffee before the film, and, if there’s interest, we’ll also invite people to share their reflections afterwards.
About the film: A film about power and its abuse—and the search for forgiveness. In Le Regard – Blikket, we meet 70-year-old photographer Albert Tueis, who is confronted with a brutal past while working on a retrospective exhibition. He remembers the photographs he took at the age of 19, when he served as a photographer in the French army in Morocco. The photographs were never published, and he believes the revealing negatives are buried safely in Morocco. During the French protectorate in Morocco (1912–1956), the French committed serious abuses against the local population, particularly in the final period before they withdrew from the country. These events form the backdrop to the film.
Directed by Nour-Eddine Lakhmari. In French with Norwegian subtitles. Running time: 1 hour and 27 minutes. Screened via filmrommet.no.
We look forward to seeing you!
