FÅ BILL! Sadness (US) // Vaterland

Sadness (US) Sunday 16 May 20:00 // 275.- // 20 years ——————————— Sadness. At Vaterland. Either you know, or you don’t. But... you can’t know everything, either. So... Sadness is the exceptionally prolific project of Mexican-American multi-instrumentalist Damián Antón Ojeda. Prolific is, strictly speaking, an understatement. Since starting in 2014, the band has released more than fifty splits, EPs and albums, including the critically acclaimed “I Want To Be There” (Flowing Downward, 2019). In 2024, the project stepped out of the studio and onto the stage. What had been a one-man studio project had now grown into a full-fledged orchestra with eight (!) members. Sadness is rooted in blackgaze and atmospheric black metal. Emotional shoegaze meets intense black metal in a sound that is creative, expansive, challenging, hypnotic and unpredictable all at once. Despite a very limited social media presence, largely due to Ojeda’s hyperfocus on the music, Sadness has built a large and exceptionally passionate following both online and in other deep-listening circles. As mentioned earlier: if you know, you know, and now you know! Sadness stopping by the local pizza joint in Brugata is simply a little “pinch me” moment. We’ll see where we put all these band members. But we’ll deal with that then! For now, let’s buy tickets and get excited! ------------------ Ticketmaster.no Vaterlandoslo.no
