Eyes Wide Shut

William and Alice Harford live in a harmonious marriage on Manhattan. The couple belong to the upper middle class, live comfortably on William’s medical practice and adore their daughter, Helena. But there are signs that they dream of exploring what lies beyond the boundaries of marriage.

Open flirting with others at a Christmas party leads to an argument about erotic fantasies. When William hears that Alice was attracted to a naval officer they met on holiday, the doctor loses his composure. He sets out into New York’s shadowy nightlife, where his morals are put to the test. His curiosity may cost William his marriage—and perhaps his life...

Eyes Wide Shut has gradually grown in stature and is now considered one of Stanley Kubrick’s most significant works.
