A social drama set in the Swiss Alps
In Verbier, in the heart of the Swiss Alps, 35-year-old Luz works without a residence permit as a housekeeper in luxury chalets inhabited by wealthy international guests. Far from her daughter, who has stayed behind in Manila, she lives an uncertain life marked by long working days, solidarity within her community and the fear of being reported.
When her ex-husband threatens to take custody of their daughter, Luz promises to return to the Philippines for her birthday. But to keep her promise, she must quickly raise a substantial sum of money, risking betrayal of her community and crossing her own moral boundaries.
The film premiered at the Berlinale in 2026 and reveals the other side of a world-famous ski destination. Between intimate personal drama and social portrait, it paints a moving picture of a woman willing to do anything to preserve her bond with her daughter.
