Elephant9! Kampen konsertforening is proud to welcome this out-of-this-world trio back to Bøgata for an anniversary concert on Friday 27 November. Elephant9 are firm favourites at Kampen Bistro and have played there many times. Those performances resulted in the live albums «Psychedelic Backfire I» and «Psychedelic Backfire II», the latter of which was nominated for a Spellemann Award for Jazz Album of the Year. We simply couldn’t celebrate our 25th anniversary without our regular house band!

The three members—Ståle Storløkken (keyboards), Nikolai Hængsle (bass and guitar) and Torstein Lofthus (drums/percussion)—bring experience from major Norwegian bands such as Bigbang, Shining, Motorpsycho and Supersilent. The band has developed a distinctive power by blending jazz, prog, psychedelia and rock in a sound that defies categorisation. Their concerts have been described as “an unparalleled psychedelic jazz-rock party, with high intensity”—an expression that enchants and surprises in equal measure.
