Drive my Car
Director and actor Yusuke Kafuku is in deep mourning, but still takes on a theatre assignment in Hiroshima. There, he is confronted with his inner demons, and an unexpected bond develops with his new driver during their long journeys in a bright red Saab 900. Drive My Car is a beautiful, atmospheric story about life itself.
The critically acclaimed film won the Oscar for Best International Feature Film and was among the favourites for this year’s Palme d’Or at Cannes. There, it won both the award for Best Screenplay and the critics’ prize. The film is based on a short story from Haruki Murakami’s book Menn uten kvinner.
