A romantic murder mystery from South Korea!
An experienced mountain climber falls to his death — is it an accident, or is someone behind it? Detective Hae-joon quickly begins to suspect the dead man's wife, Seo-rae, who seems oddly unaffected by the incident. Hae-joon buries himself in the case to escape his own problems, all while becoming increasingly fascinated by Seo-rae.
Decision to Leave is an outstanding thriller from Oldboy and The Handmaiden director Park Chan-wook. Deception and desire are intricately intertwined, and Chan-wook once again impresses with creativity, playfulness, and unexpected twists.
Park Chan-wook received the award for Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival in 2022.
