Dans for voksne: Gwenifer Raymond og Dag Erik Knedal Andersen — a live concert
“The first time I heard Mississippi John Hurt, I just assumed there were a couple of guys playing on that recording. When I discovered that it was just one guy playing guitar I immediately wanted to figure out how to play like that myself. It’s just such a full sound, so fully realized and covering this wide sonic range. It seemed to offer so many possibilities.”* Now he and John Fahey are two of the guitarists she’s compared to. Top shelf, in other words. She taught herself to play that way while touring as a punk drummer, and uses metal fingerpicks that she glues on with gorilla snot so she can really dig into the strings. At times, it gets pretty brutal. She calls it Welsh primitive, and is probably the only one in this concert series who has also played at Royal Albert Hall. The album she’ll be playing from is called ‘Last Night I Heard The Dog Star Bark’. As if that weren’t enough… what on earth could go with this concert, you might ask? It has to be Dag Erik Knedal Andersen solo! We’re aiming to send you home with an overdose of great music. You don’t know who Dag Erik Knedal Andersen is? Well, perhaps you’ve had a difficult life. He’s the drummer you might not quite know what to make of when he gets going, but time and again it turns out he was exactly what you needed, right!?
