Anne Marit Godal meets Ingunn Gjerstad for a conversation about labour history and song!
Song has been central to the labour movement almost since its beginnings—so central that it even has its own term: workers’ songs. Through song, the labour movement has built a sense of community and a spirit of resistance. These songs also preserve a piece of labour history that is worth cherishing.
Anne Marit Godal is currently promoting her book Arbeidarsong (2026), and on Thursday 19 November she will be at Deichman Torshov. Ingunn Gjerstad, leader of LO in Oslo, will interview her about the book. And of course, there will be singing! Lots of singing!
