Asako I & II

Asako falls in love with Baku. He disappears, and two years later she meets Ryohei, who looks exactly like Baku but has a completely different personality.

Asako meets Baku by chance at the exit of a photo exhibition. They fall passionately in love at first sight. Six months later, however, Baku disappears without a trace, just as dramatically as they met. A few years later, Asako spots someone who looks like Baku in Tokyo. But it is Ryohei, who, despite the resemblance, has the opposite personality. Asako’s passion is rekindled, and a romance blossoms. But how can one woman love two such different men? The film is based on a novel by Tomoka Shibasaki.
