All the Lovers in the Night
Film screening
Two gentle souls meet and form a fragile bond, with the lonely metropolis of Tokyo as a backdrop.
We meet Fuyuko, a deeply shy young woman who works freelance as a proofreader. Working from home, she does not have to interact with others. A chance meeting with the older, gentle physics teacher Mitsutsuka at a cultural centre builds a fragile bridge to the outside world. A small romantic spark ignites when they meet again at a café and talk about the nature of light. All the Lovers in the Night is a beautiful and poetic film about breaking free from big-city loneliness and finding a new direction in life, based on a book by Mieko Kawakami.
