All of a Sudden
Film screening
The director of DRIVE MY CAR is back with a beautiful drama that earned both lead actresses acting awards at Cannes.
We’re celebrating Vega’s 8th anniversary on 2 November with a screening in collaboration with arthaus and Film fra Sør. All of a Sudden will also be screened at this year’s Film fra Sør festival.
As the manager of a nursing home, Marie-Lou decides to introduce the Humanitude care concept at the institution. The approach is based on attentiveness to others and respect for human dignity. Her encounter with Mari, a Japanese theatre director living with cancer, changes her life profoundly. The two women develop a deep friendship and join forces to “make the impossible possible”. Virginie Efira and Tao Okamoto shared the Best Actress award at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
