The director of Drive My Car returns with a beautiful drama that earned both lead actors awards at Cannes.
As the director of a nursing home, Marie-Lou decides to introduce the Humanitude care concept at the institution. The approach is based on attentiveness to others and respect for human dignity. The new concept meets resistance from much of the nursing home staff. Her encounter with Mari, a Japanese theatre director living with cancer, changes her life on a fundamental level. The two women develop a deep friendship and join forces in a struggle to «make the impossible possible». Virginie Efira and Tao Okamoto shared the Best Actress award at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
