A Norwegian Christmas adventure for the whole family
When nine-year-old Mari wakes one night to find a Christmas gnome in her bedroom, it marks the beginning of an extraordinary Christmas adventure. With a forgotten gnome mitten as their only clue, she, her paternal grandmother and a very sceptical dad set off on an adventurous journey to find Santa Claus. But the mitten’s owner, Santa’s little helper Stompen, will do everything he can to stop them. Santa’s workshop must not be discovered — it would be a disaster! Their journey takes them through forests, across heathland and through beautiful winter landscapes. They also face plenty of challenges: they must get past the forest guardian, Kjerringa med staven, and battle their way through a terrible snowstorm. The journey is not only exciting — it also opens the family’s eyes to one another, and they eventually discover the true magic of Christmas. Get ready for this year’s Christmas film for the whole family, packed with festive spirit and well-known songs by Thorbjørn Egner, including Kaptein Sorte Bill, Dyrene i Afrika and Det snør det snør — performed by some of Norway’s leading artists, including Sissel Kyrkjebø.
